BARRINGTON TOPS
Barrington Tops National Park & State Forest is accessed via Gundy Road turning of at the Barrington Tops Road at Moonan Flat to Gloucester. The variations in altitude means you can see sub-tropical rainforest and snow gums all in a days walk. There are many walking tracks and lookouts at Gloucester Tops & Careys Peak. One of the most unusual features of the area is a large sphagnum moss swamp called Polblue Swamp, which is dissected by a channel of icy cold water. Nearby there is an unusual rock formation called by many ‘Phallic Rock’. The beauty of the Barrington is a must to experience – why not picnic in ‘The Firs’ and watch the lyrebirds stroll by.
