The Neighbourhood Centre is a not for profit group and is managed by a volunteer
The service was incorporated in 1987 and opened its doors from the Mare and Foal
Mall moving a few years later to be co-located with the Scone Library in Kelly Street.
As the services grew and with the need for additional space the service relocated
in 2000 into the offices behind their existing location.
The service has four part time employees and a full time Manager, as well as a team
of volunteers to run the many programs that are available to the community. In January
2010 the Neighbourhood Centre were provided access to a shop front location. The
move to 130 Liverpool Street the old Council Building provided a visual impact and
one that would allow the Centre to grow.
However due to recent changes we are now looking to purchase a neighnourhood centre
for this community. Your contribution, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
Our objectives are to:
Co-ordinate & organise activities for the benefit of the residents of the local community.
To stimulate Community Development in the local area.
The Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre is funded by the Department of Families &
Community Services, Department of Social Services and in partnership with the Community
