SPONSORS for the Scone and Upper Hunter Horse Festival’s signature annual bumper stickers are being sought.
Upper Hunter Shire Council Tourism Manager, Belinda McKenzie, said the distinctive bumper stickers would this year feature in a radio promotion where drivers of cars with bumper stickers could win $30.00 of scratchie tickets per week for the eight weeks leading up to the Festival.
She said the scratchie promotion was an initiative of the Scone & Hunter Horse Festival Committee who several years ago successfully ran the scratchie promotion.
Sponsors have their business name featured prominently on print runs of 2000 stickers for $670 and the well-known stickers are a souvenir item among locals and visitors alike.
“This year is a particularly good year for sponsors to have their names on the Horse
Festival bumper stickers because it is the 30th anniversary of the Horse Festival,
which has evolved from a simple street parade into a 17-day program of events for
everyone,” Ms McKenzie said. Any business or organisation wishing to sponsor some
bumper stickers are invited to contact Belinda as
soon as possible so that printing
can get underway.
She said planning for the Festival was well underway but the committee
needed new
faces to be involved in a significant community-driven event.
The Festival will run this year from April 30 to May 16, with highlights
including
the street parade in Scone, King of the Ranges at Murrurundi,
and the Invermein Picnic
by the Lake at Lake Glenbawn.
The Emirates Park Scone Cup will be held on May 14 with accommodation
operators reporting
that they are fully booked for this event.
If you would like to get involved in the Upper Hunter’s biggest annual
community
event, phone Belinda McKenzie on 0438 292 652.
