Buskers Needed For Some Horse ’N’ Around

ASPIRING entertainers of all ages will have the opportunity to perform at the inaugural Scone and Upper Hunter Horse Festival busking competition in May.

Horse Festival committee president Joan Shaw said the competition would be held to coincide with the Festival's famous street parade on Saturday May 9.

Committee member and busking competition organiser Jill Macintyre said the competition would add an exciting new element to the parade.

"The Upper Hunter is home to a great many musicians, singers, and performing artists and we're looking forward to giving them the chance to perform before a capacity crowd in Kelly Street as crowds gather ahead of the parade," Mrs Macintyre said.

"We think it will really add to the colour of what is already a memorable highlight of the Horse Festival," she said.

"We will have a junior section and a senior section and we are hoping to attract a diverse range of performers - everyone from musicians to clowns, statues and jugglers," Mrs Macintyre said.
